So, what do you get when you have an already planned trip and your travel-based dissertation looming?

Back in November 2015, (Oh my God, that’s so long ago?!) I’d booked to go stay with my friend Sam, who was doing a year abroad in Copenhagen, which was amazing. In a general discussion with my supervisor, he asked if I was travelling anywhere else soon, so I told him.

He then suggested (flat out told me) that I should do a travel vlog of this trip to compare with my written piece about a previous trip that I was submitted.

Let me level with you here – I don’t vlog. For someone who did a degree in the media department, at this stage, my video shooting and editing skills were adequate at best.

I told my supervisor this, and he insisted it would be an ‘interesting experiment’ to see how easy it is to get into the form of vlogging.

Basically, my holiday to see my friend was now a research trip.

However, after running around what is a beautiful city for a couple of days, pretending to know what I was doing with my recording, I ended up with this.*

*Also after several breakdowns during editing and laptop failings, that resulted in a LOT of gin.
